I ******* FINALLY got an invite to a beta weekend of The Elder Scrolls Online, for tomorrow.
I am so god damn pumped, has anyone else played yet? I haven't been playing DUST pretty much at all lately, maybe a match here or there, I'm just burnt out and since I don't know if we're getting a respec with 1.8 or not, I just don't particularly care anymore.
But this **** is HOT, I can't wait to play the **** out of this ^_^

Given what it is, though, probably best to not have any expectations with it using the TES setting in any way that doesn't screw with it completely and just try to embrace it as it's own unrelated thing.
To be honest, with Michael Kirkbride gone, I think the most interesting aspects of TES left with him. There's a goldmine of thoughtful metaphors pertaining to life, the universe and our place in it squirreled away in the series... The way much of it played with the meta aspects of the lore with an eye to the theme of ascension is good stuff.
TESO will be a completely different beast in what it offers... it remains to be seen whether being TES will help or hinder it. Either way if it does have merit it will be on it's own terms. It can't really pull much of what works in the mainline (highly flawed in itself) and there's a vast swathe of things it would be an ill-conceived idea to try and emulate. Needs to find it's own identity for better or worse. Honestly, I loved the hell out of Morrowind, was turned off completely by Oblivion, and just could not get into Skyrim.
I already have a build in mind, but they have NDA and of course I didn't read it, so I'll just keep that to myself lol. But yea, I'm going in with an open mind and no real preconceptions other than I want to be a "tank" like character. I plan to read most of the quests instead of clicking through them like I usually do in games like that, I think it has a lot of potential for immersion in an MMO
Plus, they have one giant server like EVE, and FIRST PERSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am going to gimp myself so much playing first person and I don't care because that's ******* awesome
